The flush mount option requires a minimal 41mm of depth and there are 19mm and 25mm installation options using spacers (sold separately). When you have no space for any of these options you can simply surface mount the Sound-Panel and avoid cutting at all. Each of these options still provide you with a clean, finished looking installation and great sound.
